In his wonderful book ‘The Green Imperative’, Victor Papanek describes the designer as someone ‘attempting to walk the narrow bridge between order and chaos, freedom and nihilism, between past achievements and future possibilities’.
Virginia was born in San Sebastián, Spain and lived there until her passion for adventure drove her all the way to United States to study Graphic Arts and Visual Communications in Boston, Massachusetts. To be living in the USA for 6 years got her a real international experience that changed her life on a personal and profesional level.
In September 2004 she moved to Italy, where she did a Master in Web Design at the ‘Scuola Politecnica Di Design’ in Milano. The Scuola Politecnica di Design was the first visual and industrial design school set up in Italy. It was founded in 1954 by Nino Di Salvatore and has trained thousands of designers and visual communication professionals from a good forty different countries.
Virginia is a native spanish speaker and is fluent in English and Italian. At the moment she is based in San Sebastián and working full time as a Graphic Designer.
She is also artist in residence at the contemporary art centre Arteleku. The centre initiates and promotes both theoretical and practical interdisciplinary projects and is open to national and international artists.
